irregular bowl with holes

irregular bowl with holes

Ø 22cm

this bowl has been thrown on the kickwheel
from very soft porcelain clay.
it was made quickly, cut from the wheelhead
and left as it was.
the base remains flat and there has been
no trimming.
the dynamic rim displays the motion of
the wheel and the softness of the clay
frozen in time.
a large iron speck near the rim enhances
the assymmetric nature of this bowl and
the holes that were cut later further underline
the fragile impression this piece makes.
can be used as a serving dish or salad bowl
